Female Hijama Therapist now available in Leicester!
Asalamu alaikum to all brothers and sisters.
I'm a practicing female Hijama Therapist in Leicester who provides Hijama Treatment to ladies only. I have recently completed the NHNF course and inshaAllah I am hoping to make the treatment more accessible for more sisters.
Hijama has many benefits. Not only is it very effective for DETOX but is very effective when treating muscular and joint pains, sciatica, headaches and migraines, anxiety and stress, depression, insomnia and many more. It is an excellent treatment for all kinds of menstrual problems and infertility. These are just some of the cases I have experience in treating. As well as all the benefits that Hijama offers it is first and foremost a Sunnah and for that reason alone it is worth having it done.
The procedure is simple and painless and looks worse then it actually is. Most patients feel light and relaxed after treatment and many have reported feeling a difference immediately, especially with pain.
At the moment I can only offer treatment on 'home visits'. InshaAllah there are efforts being made to try and open a Hijama Clinic in Leicester which would be fantastic, but until that happens its home visits.
Contact me if you would like to discuss personal cases or would like general information regarding Hijama.

Hafsa, thank you for the interesting post.
ReplyDeleteJust out of interest, and as a clarification for our blog-readers who may be considering learning Hijama Therapy, can you elaborate:
- How long did the NHNF course take to complete?
- Was there any prior medical knowledge required, ie. were you already from a medical background before embarking on the course?
Thanks
Shuaib
Asalamu Alaikum brother
ReplyDeleteThank you for the question.
The duration of the course is six months.
There is no prior medical knowledge required for the course but many medical professionals have embarked on the course. I myself do not have any previous medical knowledge just a very strong interest in prophetic medicine.
For anyone wishing to learn and practice Hijama I would definitely recommend the NHNF course. The course covers history of hijama, anatomy and physiology including meridian points, who and how to treat, patient and practitioner ethics and health and safety. As well as the course work there is also a one day practical to attend.
I hope this helps.

Reusing plastic cups
Regarding reusing plastic cups. I would advise anyone using plastic cups to use them only once. Although they can be sterilised it is safer to dipose of them each time and use new ones for the next treatment.
When using glass cup these can be sterilised using various methods such as wiping with alcohol, special sterilising agents, using methylated spirit. For Hijama I would only recommend plastic disposable cups. It is far safer especially for wet cupping.
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu
ReplyDeleteMashaAllaah sister, it is good to see another sister offering hijama. I am a hijama therapist based in Manchester and often get enquiries from sisters across the country searching for a therapist closer to them, so inshaAllaah I will make a note of your details and pass them on to any relevant enquiries.

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
ReplyDeletePlease note that the NHNF course is being run for the first time and has not finished yet. Students are waiting to take their final exam so no one is officially qualified with them as a Hijaamah therapist.
For those taking the exam I wish you all the best and hope that it is a cause of benefit for you all.
asalamu alaikoum sister,
ReplyDeleteCould you tell me, how does hijaamah work for sisters in terms of uncovering?
I am currently studying traditional chinese fire cupping and my teacher is not muslim and neither her nor their clients care about uncovering, but since they use it for massage it's a little different.
Do you have the sister sit up in a chair?
What if it's a problem below the navel, how is this addressed?

Walaykum salaam
ReplyDeleteUncovering during hijamah is not a problem for the sisters that I treat as I only treat females and usually in their own homes. I have a special massage chair which is adjustable and sisters are very comfortable on this especially for back treatment. As far as problems below the navel go, I usually lie them flat on the floor or bed (depending on age and treatment im giving). For most leg treatments sitting is on a chair is preferred. Alhamdullilah it has not been a problem so far in treating women. I hope this helps you sister.
Sister Umm Husamuddin, Jazakhallah for passing on my details. Inshallah I will do likewise.
Asalamualakum sister. how can u help sisters who have strong interest to learn hijama in nigeria?
